Laundry On Sundaes

Every beginning is only a sequel, after all, and the book of events is always open halfway through.

Finally getting around to blogging about our NYC trip over spring break! We flew out early morning the Saturday after my last final…

We stayed at Yotel, a trendy futuristic space-themed hotel. It’s very purple (you can see the purple light a block away at night).

The rooms are called cabins. Also lots of purple and rounded corners.

It was a pretty decent hotel in a good location. But I didn’t like their pillows (I’m picky about my pillows) and thus didn’t rest too well at night.

After we settled into our room, it was late afternoon and we headed out to go to the Top of the Rock, since I had never been there before. We went right before sunset, so we got to see the city in the warm glow of the setting sun.

We stayed until night fell so that we could also see the pretty city lights at night. Highly recommend going at sunset so you get both day and night views!

After that, we walked to 53rd and 6th for halal food, supposedly the best in NYC.

the serving was huge but we were super hungry. It was delicious but we added a bit too much hot sauce – it was really really spicy! So spicy that I wished I didn’t add so much because it kind of overpowered everything. Oh well.
