Laundry On Sundaes

Every beginning is only a sequel, after all, and the book of events is always open halfway through.

We took this trip more than a month ago but I finally got around to posting this now. Yufei and I spent a few days in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico enjoying the beautiful sunshine and beaches.

We stayed at the RIU Vallarta and it was great. It was a smaller resort, but still all-inclusive and was perfect for a short stay like ours. The hotel was basically a U shape facing the ocean, and we got a room on the top floor with an ocean view!

The resort was very clean, had a nice pool and beach, and there were lots of yummy food and drinks. The first day we just hung around the beach a little and got settled in, and then had dinner. For dinner they had a buffet and 3 specialty restaurants that needed reservations, and we managed to eat at all 3 of them on our trip. So we only had the buffet once, on our first night, but it was probably the most extensive buffet I had ever seen! So many choices.

The second day was devoted entirely to the beach and pool. The water was not as calm and clear as in the Caribbean, but it was still fun playing in the waves.

Then for dinner we ate at the steakhouse, one of the specialty restaurants. They has several different cuts of meat we could choose from. There was also an appetizer plate for sharing, a salad, a soup, and a dessert that was the same for everyone. I ended up getting the shrimp and beef skewers, which was very delicious.

The restaurant was facing the ocean and we got to enjoy some beautiful rays from the setting sun.

After dinner we went back to our room and sat on the balcony, and we were treated to this breathtaking sunset.
